Is the porno trolling scheme and example of how out of hand copyright lawers have become?

  • It's not the only example either.

These days it is far too easy to make a copyright claim against someone without having any evidence. Copyright is one of the few laws where the person is guilty until proven innocent. It's time for the law to be updated to prevent this kind of abuse of the system from happening.

  • Yes, copyright lawyers are totally out of hand.

Yes, the porno trolling scheme is ridiculous. It would make sense to me that copyright lawyers might legitimately work for companies whose intellectual property rights are being uploaded to sites like the Pirate Bay by third parties. However, when these companies upload the films themselves in order to set a trap for people who are downloading them, they are stepping over the line.

  • People shoud be able to live.

Laws are a good thing when they protect rights. Laws become a bad thing when they prevent ordinary people from being able to go about their business without interference from others. In this case, the laws have become abused. People are not able to do usually, ordinary things because they are victims of people abusing laws.

  • Ever profession has its rotten eggs

There are plenty of good lawyer jokes to go around. Nevertheless, the legal profession, like any other is filled by people. Some good and and some not so good. This latest bust is just another example of people that have gone afoul of the systems that we have set down to help maintain a semblance of order.
