  • Yes, the presidential election process is unfair financially.

    Although there are a lot of rules in place to keep the Presidential election process fair, such as giving opponents equal airtime, and I do believe the general voting process is fair, there is one major thing that is not fair. Only the wealthy really have a shot at becoming President, being able to raise enough money to run and advertise. The Presidency will likely never be held by someone from the working or middle class. The need to advertise to really gain votes has made the process unfair.

    Today, presidential elections are a contest between who has more money. Political Action Committees are able to raise unlimited amounts of money for campaign advertisements. Gone are the days when people's opinions really mattered. The media has taken over the elections, and real issues are never discussed. It just matters who has more money now.
