Is the privatization of public schools necessary?

  • Yes, the privatization of public schools is necassary

The privatization of the public school system is necessary for the success of our education system. The main reason for this is competition. We as humans are naturally competitive, and thus we strive to be the best. The privatization of our schools would force teachers and all schools to compete to be the best, thus educating the children to be the best of their abilities. You see, as it stands now, teachers, after so many years, become tenured. At that point, the teacher cannot be terminated (of course the case for every tenured educator), and will stop educating to the best of their abilities. In a privatized education system, teachers would be held accountable for every action (or lack thereof). That's just the micro-system of it. In the micro-system, schools compete with other schools and districts compete with other districts. Everyone would strive to be the best in a privatized education system.

  • It would create incentives.

Yes, the privatization of public schools is necessary, because the public schools can do so much better if they have incentives. If the public schools know that they will lose students if they do not provide a good product, they will try harder, manage money better, and ultimately provide a better education to their students.

  • No: The Privatization of Public Schools Is Not Neccessary

The notion that we need to privatize public schools is part of a delusional agenda that places so-called free markets in a position beyond contempt. Such private schools have not been shown to noticeably improve education, but if they did, they would further entrench education along economic lines, and would make children even more into the products of a spiritually and socially bankrupt corporate vision of reality.

  • No, public school is foreveryone.

Public school is mandatory for all children who can not afford Private school. Privatizing public school would make it harder for those who actually need the education to get it. Privatizing public school will do nothing more than keep the most needing students from getting a proper education, thus dividing the lines between the rich and the poor and widening the gap.

  • No, there should be public schools.

We should not and cannot resort to the privatization of schools across America because it does not have the same impact, and benefits at that, that public schools do have. We should keep public schools because it is a diverse and unique environment where a student can learn some tolerance.
