Espionage has been around as long as people have wanted what other people have. For the Russian Government to attempt to hack US government agencies, it's a frequent occurrence. Russia wants something the US has. They wouldn't ask for it. So why not try and steal it? And don't think for a minute that the US government is not doing the same to Russia.
Yes without doubt the Russian government is attempting to the United States' IT networks. Just as the United States has ongoing efforts to hacking the Russian information technology networks. It's a fact of international political and business relations that every government is looking to find some advantage over their counterparts.
Russia is doing everything it can to hack the American government and big corporations. We helped them after the cold war and all they do is spit on us. They are an enemy and act aggressively towards us, especially on the internet. Hacking is a serious problem that requires a serious response.
The news reported yesterday that the White House computers were supposedly hacked by the Russian government. Though the theories and hypothesis are out there, the US still has to verify this was actually an attempted hack-attack made from Russia. The computers luckily shut themselves down as a security response as they do with any possible hack that may be done to the system.
