Is the U.S. Government spending too much money on the War on Drugs?

Asked by: chrumbelievable
  • US Government Spending Too Much on War on Drugs

Yes, the United States Government is spending too much money on the War on Drugs. In addition to this, too many non-violent offenders are sent to prison, which in turn causes even more money to be spent on a war that cannot be one. The US Government would be better off spending that money elsewhere.

  • Yes, The War on Drugs is a Waste

The US has been and continues to spend too much on the War on Drugs and lose too much revenue they would gain in taxes if prohibition was just ended. History shows prohibition fails, and the War on Drugs is not only a drain on finances, it is causing imprisonment of too many good people and breaking up families and has made no progress in changing social views or drug use. Social and medical support programs make more sense and age restricting, controlling and taxing drugs is a better financial and social practice.
