Is the union of England, Scotland and Wales really an empire or is it voluntary (no)?

  • Quite frankly this is weird

Cromwellian England was a dominator over Wales and Ireland, plus Jamaica. But if this was an empire then how come the domination over Wales and Ireland wasn't called the English or Scottish empire? Why is it called Britain? This is the weirdest country I've ever known in terms of history. Denmark never did this when they conquered Greenland. They called it Greenland, it was their empire. Sweden never did this when they conquered Finland. They called it whatever they called it.
