Is there a difference between a rebellion and a mutiny?

Asked by: ladiesman
  • Yes there is

Mutiny is a rebellion generally from soldiers disobeying orders from their superiors. For example If a captain of a ship is acting bat crazy, the sailors my rise up in mutiny and throw him overboard

A rebellion spans both soldiers and people raising against an authority. Generally rebellions is a more broad word and mutiny is more of a granular type of rebellion.
