Is there a way to save the world from suffering and destruction?

  • The World Can Be Saved through Mental Unity

The solution to all the world’s major problems is to create a mental unity among humans in which everyone perceives everyone else’s experiences and feels all the associated positive and negative impacts of such as if they were his or her very own, creating full understanding of each others’ situations and complete empathy for all the bad so that all our needs are respected and we don’t do harm. People wronging others, intentionally or not, will feel as if they are their victims and will want to stop the detriment, just like pulling one’s own hand away from a fire, and they will have the exact knowledge of how to do so; this works because all will understand others’ perspectives, just as the wise already do, and as the wise choose to be peaceful with their expanded views, so will everyone else; where such victimization is due to physically impaired brains, the thoughts resulting from the neural connections of the sane will prevail over corrupt thinking. People will understand each other’s divine equality in being brought into the world the same and being molded by their minds and environment in all the same ways; this will stop all personal hatred so that all negative attributes resulting from the molding of their lives will be resolved with only compassion for the person itself. The most fair compromise will be found for all small-scale disputes with knowledge of the needs of both sides and any readily available outside wisdom, and all pain not caused by other people will be alleviated through diffused spiritual understanding and expedited scientific development. Plus, the environmental crisis, the world’s most potent threat, will be resolved as the wisdom of those who care for our home is diffused against others’ industrial greed and political bickering, as well as through science. Abuses against all non-human organisms will also be abolished through such wisdom.

  • There is not a way at the moment, but one day it may be possible.

It is very apparent to anyone who has an understanding of the way the sun produces it's energy that its lifetime is not infinite. However, throughout history we have seen breakthroughs in science that no one ever believed possible. The fact of the matter is, there may be a way to extend the lifetime of the sun, and to destroy meteors that may be headed to our home planet, and even find new ways to produce energy without emitting green house gases. It may sound like something you would see in a science fiction movie, but human beings are rather spontaneous and resourceful, even if there is not a way four us cease the discharge of green house gases, I would assume we would be able to survive global warming as would some plants and animals, just as we saw in the ice age, plants and animals adapted and it was not the destruction of this world. Therefore I ask, are you allowing your mind to explore the true possibilities of science and how it could save our world, or are you containing it into what you know and observe.

  • Save the World.

The environment is promoted everywhere as the great ‘Save the World’ issue, BUT the truth is we have only been focusing on the symptoms of the devastation of our world and the disintegration of society that is happening everywhere we look, not the cause, which is us humans—our egocentric, competitive, selfish and aggressive behaviour. And the deeper truth is, to change that behaviour and, by so doing, truly save the world, we needed to find the reconciling, redeeming and thus rehabilitating biological explanation of our seemingly-highly-imperfect so-called HUMAN CONDITION! As the author Richard Neville so accurately summarised our species’ plight: ‘we humans are locked in a race between self destruction and self discovery’ (Sydney Morning Herald, 14/10/86).

MOST WONDERFULLY, however, biology is now, at last, able to provide this long dreamed-of, exonerating and thus psychologically rehabilitating and human-race-transforming understanding of ourselves that will actually save the world! Yes, at the absolute eleventh hour for our species, the arrival of ‘self discovery’ finally and thankfully gives us the real means to defeat the threat of ‘self destruction’ and save the world! (And it should be mentioned that this explanation of our species’ deeply psychologically troubled human condition is not the psychosis-avoiding, trivialising, dishonest account of it that the biologist E.O. Wilson has put forward in his theory of Eusociality, but the psychosis-addressing-and-solving, real explanation of it.)

  • Not to be a pessimist

When the Sun dies and runs out of fuel, the Earth will freeze. I don't need to say more, but this website requires it.

But by the time the sun dies, humans will be long gone. And long after the sun dies, the stars will be beyond the observable universe. Then, the black holes will start accumulating, and all will collapse back into the singularity. Just saying. Better enjoy this world while you can.

  • Humans are inherently evil unfortunately

Humans have excelled in killing each other and the world around us. Everything we do has the effect of global warming , death, disease, and destruction. We've gotten better at creating weapons, we're better at putting our selves in debt and we're all trying to find a better life for ourselves not the people in the world around us. This world is coming to an end and there's no stoping that

  • So the Mayans didn’t get it quite right. Does that mean that we are off scot-free? Not in the least.

Earth will see its own demise; it’s just a question of when and how. There has been a lot of hype about the nearing of the apocalypse in the past handful of years. The chances that God himself will come down and wipe out humanity is unlikely to say the least.

However, there are a good amount of other factors that could not only end life on planet earth, but could mean the end of Earth itself. Will this be next week? Or next year? No, it won’t. It most likely won’t be in our lifetime, but it will happen sooner or later. If the human race wishes to continue for the next million years or so, we need to keep these possibilities in mind in order to burn a fire under our own asses.

One of the most common fears is global warming. I am sure you all have your own opinions on whether or not global warming is a possibility or rather a governmental conspiracy. I am here to tell you that not only is it possible, but it is inevitable. This is something that most people won’t tell you: the earth’s temperature will rise with or without the help of humans and our garbage.

Technically, we are currently living in the Ice Age. An Ice Age has cold periods called “glacial” periods and warmer periods called “interglacial” periods. We are currently in an interglacial period. The current Ice Age has been around for about 30 million years, but will eventually come to an end.

Our carbon dioxide emissions are only speeding up the process. For those that don’t believe that the polar icecaps will melt, you are only fooling yourselves. The icecaps will melt and most of the world will be consumed by water. This is not a prediction; it is a fact.

There once used to be dinosaurs. Yet some 65 million years ago, a 10-km wide asteroid collided into Earth and killed each and every single one of them. Why do you all think that this is not a possibility today? Sixty-five million years ago is nothing compared to the lifetime of the world, which is roughly 4.5 billion years.

Why is it so unfathomable that another may strike the earth in the next 500 years, wiping out civilization? Sure, such a large asteroid has not been seen since, but a smaller one could also do the trick of ending life on planet earth.

“A one to two kilometer strike would be a global catastrophe,” says Duncan Steel, one of the world’s leading experts in asteroid threats. “It would totally obliterate an area about the size of a European country. But the main concern is not the impact itself, but the knock-on effects…

  • Humans don't care about the environment, they care about business and themselves.

World unity is a big thing that everyone wants and for some reason can't get. Why? Because they're not willing to give up anything precious to them to gain something else. Even then, even when we do unite as one we still wouldn't save the world. We will never save this world from destruction because the next thing in a human mind is either money or becoming more technologically advance.
Humans, throughout time, have created powerful philosophies that would benefit everyone whole and yet we don't follow them because of our own ego, pride, and ways of cheating them.
Again, all humans, in their minds, are thinking about money as first priority to be able to find "happiness." For themselves. At the cost of suffering for other species and even other humans. So... That would mean it is impossible to save this world, unless someone would act as the villain purposely to wipe at least 7 billion people off the earth.
    Because humans are the problem.

  • Humans even when united, don't care. Humans are about business, not environment.

  • Even if it was worth it, no.

Why does anyone even care about saving Earth? There are instances of other planets being made inhospitable due to natural causes and its (likely) prior life was wiped out.

If you want to save Earth because you think it's special as a planet you're making a terribly illogical and emotional argument. Earth isn't significant compared to the others in this universe and that's fact you have to accept.

The only other reason you'd want to save it is because of the life forms residing on it. Ask yourself, when the Dodo Bird went extinct did it strive for its species to survive? No. This is the natural way of things. And you arguing otherwise is you not accepting your place in the universe.
