  • It's kind of obvious

Did you know that the universe is expanding at just the correct speed that all life can exist? Did you know that the earth is just the right distance from the sun to where we won't freeze or burn to death? Did you know that our air has just the right mixture so we can breath? But of course, this ALL happened by chance, right? People say intelligent design is just a belief. Evolution is also just a belief, as people say intelligent design is a belief. How can everything in the universe just happen to work together so we can exist? It makes logical sense that a Creator made everything intelligently.

  • Cambrianic explosion proves all

    Cambrianic explosion is 100% proof.
There is zero evidence in the fossil record of any species transferring to another species, also proving that evolution is 100% false. Check out "Signs of Gods existence" on youtube. It is irrefutable evidence, none of this "proves" any religion, but it all proves beyond any doubt whatsoever that we were created by an intelligent designer.

  • Dna complexity. Which came first, the information contained therein vs the mechanism to create it. There is not enough time to create such varied complexity.

I believe in the hypothesis of Evolution but there are many mysteries contained which beg for further study and investigation by science. Where did the information contained in DNA come from. How did life truly begin. If one states ' Aliens' or something not from this world, it merely pushes the problem outward. It's the same problem.
The Cambrian Explosion is another mystery. Where did all that varied forms of life come from. Where is the Geologic evidence once hope for by Darwin to explain all the missing gaps in his theory.
Science deals in facts, theories must be proven.
The 'Proof' you ask for demands that scientists investigate. There will be No consensus until vital facts have been explored. Let us not stick our heads in the sand and say there are no problems with the Theory of Evolution. Even Darwin knew of his limitations.

The subject will have much debate until scientists in many different fields of study come together to tackle these issues.

Your question is kind of mute in that sense.

  • The soul-body mixture

The existence of soul inside every being is just beyond science, logic, or any other imagination. I guess that every being has a window towards the supernatural. Also I think that there would be no time in future that humans would recognize the essence of soul. It is an insurmountable barrier of human mind.

  • It can't be chance

Someone's earlier comments was that the life did happen by chance, because there is an infinite possibility in an infinite universe. Well let me ask you a question. How do you know this? Have you all knowledge? We do not know anything about the size of the universe. How could their be an infinite universe when we haven't traveled and explored it ? That means there could be a possibility that there was a creator. Why are you guys so stubborn? I admit we are too, but you seem not to even accept there's even a chance we are right. I accept there is a possibility you guys are right, so try to do the same.

  • Give me 100 percent evidence that ID doesn't exist

You say ID doesn't exist but you don't really know quite frankly what your talking about. The human argument is funny because what your saying is that "stuff made me" you really want to be created by STUFF!? If you say that amino acids created us then you could trace it back and there is a start you know what a start is intelligence! You say we always fall back onto God to explain it and no if you can find me a hypothesis that doesn't have a beginning also i hear a lot why would a loving God create this horrible world he did it because he thought it was worth the risk to have us chose him or earthly things. If you give me example of a something else created this world then that would make me think but im not going to lose this argument ill give you that. Most of you are truly not real scientists because a real person open to things wouldn't shut this out unless they are scared that their is a God which you are.

  • Evolution requires blind faith

Faith- the belief in something that cannot be seen. Evolution takes thousand to hundreds of thousands of years to occur. Therefore we can never personally observe evidence in a single life time. Thus, the foundation of atheism is based on faith in scientists who can never put all the pieces together concerning this topic like the Quran can. So instead of believing in the bits and pieces of work other fellow human beings wrote and discovered, us religion people, put our faith in the prophets who brought down the book of God. At the end of the day if I die and there is a God than I am safe because I believed and if there isn't then I still lived a happy and moral life. Which is more than I can say for the atheist:/ If you are still breathing then its never too late. Pick up the Quran and give that a chance the way you did Krausss' and Dawkinss' books. You owe it to yourself. Nothing to lose. I read all three and was rudely but rightfully awaken. God Bless! -tGhouleh

  • Complexity proves science is engineered by a designer with a purpose

I concur with the complexity of the products argument. Time and again scientists who attempt to deny an intelligent design paradigm do so by suggesting that systems are too complex. That is the exact reason to indicate that the opposite is true: a chaotic system of floating matter would not become and intensely complex system simply because we give it billions of years to do so. Inherent in design is something we see in all life which is the fact that the designer created a system not once, but a system of systems that replicates and adapts itself through the centuries and millennia. To a lay person, would a tornado in a junkyard produce a stealth fighter? Rhetorically, no. But do you believe it might if you replicate the circumstances billions of times? Will you eventually get a well designed highly advanced jet simply because you gave it time to come together? Even if that could happen, would that well accumulated collection of materials then be able to replicate itself? I cannot imagine it could. Those who contend that intelligent design is simply a way to get God into the classrooms are again oversimplifying things. All intelligent design holds is that some force beyond what we can yet fully know, perceive, or understand is at work in the process. It does not forcefully implicate a belief in the Judeo-Christian or Abrahamic religions that rely on the Genesis account. It simply says that until we can refute the complexities of the systems in physical science by proving they occurred by chance plus luck times time, we can accept that some higher purpose exists behind the world we can observe.

  • Life was engineered

Just as Galileo was motioning over the skeptical Church authorities to peer through his telescope, materialists are reluctant to peer through the electron microscope that Michael Behe and Scott Minnich are looking through. Materialists refuse to acknowledge that the component parts of the bacterial flagellum motor requires engineering. This is basically an outboard motor that propels an organism. The concept of Irreducible Complexity is sound!

  • No god/s exist

Religion and a belief in god are only down to faith. That faith comes from a book filled with lies and contradictions. All the bible and god/s are silly superstition that we inherited from our caveman ancestors.

ID supporters and creationists have not one iota of evidence that their hypothesis is correct.

  • Not at all.

The whole hypothesis of "Intelligent Design" can by disproven with one word. Appendix. If our design is so intelligent, we would have lost our appendixes long, long ago. They were useful at one point, but not any more. Evolution didn't get rid of it because it's standard is "good enough". We're fine having them, but if we had intelligent design, anything that we don't need would be gone from our systems.

  • Put simply NO.

Just do this; imagine for a second- human being are not that great, the world is no that great and nothing is good bad or indifferent. Everything just is.
Not easy to do I know, but just try.
    Why would their be intelligent design, just because everything appears to take form and function to us in some spectacular way, doesn't mean it has any of these qualities. Look up at the stars, or the sun. How small are we? My point here is this;
I argue that intelligent design is what we; homo-sapiens do, we intelligently design tools and technologies. We orchestrate and control our environments or try to at least. What we are lead to believe to be intelligent design is merely us projecting our inferior qualities onto the world around us, a world that by random action and in-action, mutation, and interaction has become what we see and are.

  • No.

First of all, intelligent design is a masquerading term used to sneak creationism into schools, so this opinion is a malformed question.

Belief does not mean it exist. Just because something like the mind is too complex for some less intelligent (in this area of course) people to study or understand does not mean it is proof of creationism.

  • No

The Universe is an infinite expanse and therefore, there are infinitely many chances for life to form. There is no need for deity to guide the process. I would like to cite this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPMwDRsfCW8

Using the "unlikeliness," of the formation of the human race or these perfect living conditions is a terrible argument for intelligent design.

The arguments for intelligent design are nothing more than a rehash of Creationism.

  • No. It is just wishful thinking from creationists.

There is no scientific evidence for intelligent design. All of the evidence, which we gain more of every day, shows that natural selection and evolution are the core drivers of life in all its forms. Just because we do not yet understand every detail of evolution does not mean we suddenly get to say something was designed by a higher power. All of the common arguments for intelligent design are easily refuted as logical fallacies that philosophers and scientists alike can explain.

  • Evolution makes more sense

The fact that we don't yet understand the mechanism of how life started on Earth is not proof that there must be a creator. Besides, if there was a creator that somehow magically made all life on Earth, why would it have made the mistake of humans? Don't you think that given such incredible ability and knowledge that said creator would have done a much better job? Look at the history of the human animal... Cruelty, slavery, constant wars, greed, murder, thievery, rape, pollution (you get the point).

  • Empirical evidence vs. The desire to feel special

Simply because we humans do not have the answer for everything doesn't mean that what we cannot answer has to be the work of a god. We as humans are fear-based beings, and as such we have to invent things to satisfy our curiosity, or most importantly the knowledge of our inevitable mortality. On the intelligent-design side of the house lies the comfort that there is an omnipotent being controlling the universe. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts to separate themselves from a notion of religiousity (Christianity) it's obvious their "scientific investigation" has a conveniently pre-packaged conclusion... God did it.

Take the time to look at "scientific" claims of the intelligent design. There are many dubious claims that unfortunately sound like science to confuse people in unfamiliar academic territory. For example, everything is "exactly right" or "just perfect". Well the Earth could be millions of miles farther from the sun and be warm enough to sustain life with more greenhouse gasses. I'd bet people who think the Earth is at JUST the right distance from the sun would also assume that Mercury must be the hottest planet because it is closest to the sun. Acyually Venus is the hottest because of it's thick atmosphere causing unbridled greenhouse effects. Irreducible complexity: each example they give can be explained scientifically. How about the "has to be just right" combinations for blood to clot argument..."clearly designed". Actually, whales are missing a few of the components that "had to be present" says irreducible complexity and they're not all bleeding to death.

Intelligent design has a religious agenda that demands the confirmation of god. Why must god exist? To the faithful, without god there is no afterlife and that's terrifying. Instead they live in a world where prayers are answered (see STEP project 2006), and an all-loving god exists (but only if you love him or you'll be punished). The argument comes back to fear. Fear god or you'll pay forever in the afterlife that you must believe exists. A desire to feel special? Looks like control measures to me.

Science doesn't work on fear. Gravity, evolution, the laws of physics are not bound by it. 1000 years ago, solar eclipses = an angry god, now we know it's just moon between the Earth and Sun. 500 years ago, Galileo was imprisoned for stating the Sun was at the center of our solar system. 120 years ago humans couldn't imagine flying, since then we've been to the moon and back. In 1979 the words of Galileo himself "the Bible tells you how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go" were reiterated by Pope John Paul II when the church finally caught up to science and acknowledged that it was wrong for imprisoning Galileo. I charge everyone to go out, experience the world by studying the world itself! There are far more amazing things in the real world than could ever be explained in one book (the bible).

  • There can't possibly be.

Just look at the human body:

    - For having the most advanced mind, we have one of the weakest bodies. We can't regenerate limbs, we don't have fur, we have skin that can easily be sliced with paper, and we must wear clothes.

    - The appendix. No real purpose, other than exploding.

    - The testes require a lower body temperature, so they must be placed outside the body where they are vulnerable. Nothing hurts worse than being kicked there. An intelligent God would allow them to function at normal temp. And place them inside the body for protection.

    - Breathing, talking, and eating all happen through the same hole.

    - Why does corn pass right through the digestive tract, looking as yellow as it did in the fields? Did the body even digest it?

    - Why are there two genders instead of three? A group of two (as we all know) can easily get into a fight, because you can never have a majority with two people. If we had three genders, married "triples" will be fighting much less.

    Also, look at other animals.

    - A bat has solid bones (not good for flying), yet it must fly. An ostrich has hollow bones, yet it can't fly.

    - Hummingbirds and draginflies have legs, but can't walk.

    - Mayflies lose their mouth after earning their wings.

    - Many animals die right after reproducing.

An intelligent God would never have included these flaws.

  • All intelligent design believers fall back on the notion of a creating God.

If the only basis for your belief in intelligent design falls back on religious theory, then there is really no way to prove your hypothesis other than faith in a religious system.

If a person is going to present a hypothesis for intelligent design, then there should be innumerable papers being peer reviewed in credible scientific journals rather than wasting bytes on some Internet website.

In my view, one of the most telling arguments against intelligent design is the creation of the fly. What so-called intelligent designer in his/her right mind would have knowingly designed such a creature.
