I found it very scary due to the atmosphere created and the image of the voluptuary laying there withering away due to lack of sensations like a vampire sucking up every sensation to feed his life upon right out of a Gothic horror movie-The idea of the self being made up of sensations is in agreement with the philosophy of David Hume
This is not even the slightest bit scary. A two year old could easily read this happy poem and continue their life as if nothing ever happened. This is not a scary poem, just look at the smiling face. Who can be scared of that thing? I mean come on, who is scared? I know I am not.
