  • I'd say yes.

Its because if you see continuously for more than 2 hours then, you will suffer from laziness. Its because you have to sit before it more than 2 hours. But its not too bad if you sit before TV for 1 hour. Or else you can see it for 2 hours but not continuously before it.

  • It's a great media that has seen a lot abuse

The TV is a very controversial media but still pretty great. Since the 1950s till his death my grandfather's day evolved around the concept of reading the paper at 8 o'clock in the morning and watching the daily news at exactly 8 o'clock in the evening.

On the informative side we have
    - documentaries that can pack the information of a book into an hour screen time
    - news that run daily, some 24/7 and are faster than any paper. While on the internet, we have to actively search for these news (if we don't have a push notification that informs us with exactly the stuff we did not want to know) while the TV punctually brings the news at an expected time, only requiring us to press a button.
    - movies that can help people to keep entertained even when some of their abilities are fading or have never been there (hearing, reading, etc.)
    - sports events that many could not afford to attend or don't have the capacity for the demand

    On the downside are
    - ads and political views that might manipulate
    - kids TV with content that damages more than it teaches
    - stereotypes and reality shows that only show how to make people look less worthy than the people watching them
    - uncreative humor and low cultural content

All this is pretty balanced but the TV itself is a media with great potential and a broad audience - making it a very useful addition to our lives. That we sometimes decide to use it in a way that may harm us, is up to us and our behaviour. TV could be much better, if we would demand it.

  • Not bad for you.

I don't think watching a little bit of tv a day is bad for you. Watching to much is. Everybody has there favorite tv shows they love to watch. And there is also sports. Not everyone has the money to go and watch professional sports live, so having it on the tv is awesome.
