  • There is no good evidence sexual orientation is a choice.

The people who claim this have nothing but bare assertions with nothing to back themselves up. Scientific studies show strongly that sexual orientation is inborn. For example, studies of identical twins raised apart show a far stronger correlation of both twins being homosexual than fraternal twins apart, or even of fraternal twins raised together. These studies also show that programs intended to change orientation both fail and cause psychological harm.

  • Did YOU have a choice?

My question is anecdotal, but the research bears it out. Among those who consider themselves heterosexual, or "normal", there is only a tiny percentage who claim to have had any choice in the matter. They were simply born with a desire for either women or men. Some both, but once again, a statistically insignificant number. Those of us who fit the societal norm, (who are attracted sexually to the opposite sex), hardly think twice about the fact that we were born that way. There is no need to question it, as society provides no imputation to do so.
However, if one is born with an attraction to the same sex, one has to constantly question the legitimacy of what the rest of us take for granted.
