The United States broke away from the United Kingdom because the United Kingdom was taxing the United States to death. Bermuda is doing exactly the opposite. They expect the United Kingdom to protect them, but they aren't paying any taxes into the system for protection. The math doesn't work in that scenario.
It is very true that is is the sovereign right of Bermuda Island to set its corporate tax at 0%, however if this act of sovereignty is affecting other countries negatively it must be questioned. Many countries are losing revenue because of multinationals registering their companies in the island. The UK should immediately remove its protection and Bermuda to review its tax policy.
The U.K. should not immediately remove protection for Bermuda. Bermuda is not the world's worst tax haven. It is clearly the best. It is deemed worst by those that can't seem to get enough money out of productive corporations. The greed of governments is surpassed by...well, nothing. The U.K. needs to relax.
It would be a huge step for the UK to immediately remove protection for Bermuda. Clearly it is a problem that they are using the sovereignty argument to make corporate tax laws that encourage criminal behavior, while at the same time getting protection. There should be talks of compromise before it is removed though.
