The tragic death of Jose Fernandez will have a huge impact on the Miami Marlins season. This season will always be remembered for the tragic death of the up and coming pitcher. The Marlins will feel sad when looking back on 2016. This will also hurt how well they play to finish out the season.
Yes, I believe that the accidental death of Miami Marlins player Jose Fernandez will have a huge impact on the team's season. In addition to the emotional toll that such a tragic event will take on players and coaching staff, the team has also trained with Fernandez and relied on his skills.
I do not see how his death could not impact the Marlins' season. Just on an emotional level the men on this team must be rocked to their core. There is no way this does not impact how they play out on the field. It may impact them for the better though. Maybe it will inspire them to player better.
This is a big loss of talent for the organization but horse trading is so common in the MLB that it is not something that cannot be at least partially overcome. Fernandez was not such a transcendent player that his loss cannot at least be mitigated through the acquisition of new players.
