There is no good reason to maintain land mines in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea. Refugees from North Korea may try to cross that area to find freedom from oppression from the North. They should not have to fear land mines as an additional danger involved in fleeing a totalitarian regime.
The U.S. shouldn't maintain landmines in the Korean Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea. Our country has no stake in the actual KDZ, and putting landmines there is an extreme waste of resources, including time and money. The United States should focus upon more important and pressing matters closer to home.
