  • I agree the U.S. should increase its efforts to find alternate sources of energy.

Oil dependency in the U.S. is crippling and destructive. The U.S. needs to abandon oil as a primary energy source and increase its efforts in funding alternative energy sources. Eventually the oil will run out, and we will be forced to find another source. We have to overcome the politics of the government and oil industry and work together to use our alternative sources.

  • Yes, we have the technology

The amount of technology that we posses now is pretty unfathomable. We have shown time and time again that we can use other sources of energy. What needs to be worked on is the efficiency and cost of using alternative forms of energy. Oil is a dirty product that is well overused, so any chance to replace it is a good is a in my opinion.

  • We definitely need to find better alternatives.

Big Oil is one of the biggest headaches in this country. It destroys the environment, it causes wars, and most of all it makes this country vulnerable. We could have a reusable resource in Ethanol and it would create jobs for people and most of all it would cut off our independence on Big Oil and the tyranny it has brought to this country.

  • The U.S does not need to look harder for alternative energy

The U.S does not need to look harder for alternative energy sources. Accidents happen. The reality is that the U.S. is awash in undiscovered oil and we should be drilling for it. We desperately need to become energy independent using known, existing and cheap forms of energy. Not by some pie in the sky supposed energy that costs more to produce than use.
