Legality of coca production and consumption: Is coca consistent with broader anti-drug fight?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No, it is a dangerous drug.

No, coca is not consistent with the broader anti-drug fight, because cocaine is one of the most dangerous drugs. Cocaine production, selling, and distribution is responsible for countless deaths each year, around the world. There is no reason to allow coca to continue to be produced, when it results in this many problems.

  • Coca production is not good for reducing cocaine manufacture.

Letting people freely cultivate the coca plant gives way to cocaine manufacturers using regular people to grow the source of the drug. This will result in larger outputs of the drug and larger volumes headed for all corners of the world, so in the war on drugs, it's not a good idea.
