Man jailed for attacking a boy over an embrace with a girl in London: Should public displays of affection in public be banned?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • No, public displays of affection should not be banned

This is a case of an extremely radicalized individual policing the streets and pushing his views on anyone he sees fit. This was an act based on what the man had been ingrained to think due to his time in prison, rather than strictly an attack based on the public display of affection. I do not see any problem with a couple showing their love for one another, as long as it does not turn vulgar. Is there a grey area there? Of course, but to say public displays of affection should be banned because one man took it upon himself to attack a young kid is completely asinine.

  • They are normal.

Ever since the beginning of time, young people have wanted to embrace. And since the beginning of time, young people have wanted to share their affection in public. There is no harm in it. No one should honestly be offended by a hug or a kiss. There is no reason to ban something because a few people don't like it.

  • No, public displays of affection are a natural way to show feelings.

I do not believe that public displays of affection should be banned. In a world where there is so much hatred being displayed, it would be nice to see a lot more people showing affection to others. In the case of a simple embrace, which is not inappropriate in any way, I feel that this is perfectly acceptable.

  • Public displays of affection should not be banned

Showing affection is a personal matter between two people. A hug or even a kiss is a sign of showing love and affection which ahould be encouraged, rather than banned. There is so much violence in the world that any kind of love and kindness should be heavily encouraged all the tine.
