As people grow more and more concerned about their caloric intake and health, calorie counts provide a more and more valuable service to the populace at large. To take aware these calorie counts would be to provide a disservice.
People are demanding more information and more informative labels so they know what exactly they eat or drink. Considering the caloric impact of certain foods is information most people seek while shopping in a grocery store. Those same considerations would also apply when they go to restaurants.
