Mandatory universal health insurance in the United States is a good idea. Health insurance is needed to insure the more than 11 million uninsured Americans in the economic system. A universal health insurance means that every one gets the opportunity to be covered for medical treatments that does not discriminate.
People should not be forced to purchase health insurance or any other product for that matter. The decision whether or not to buy something is a personal one that needs to be determined by the family based on need and finances, and the government is placing undue hardship on people by forcing those that do not want or need insurance to waste money on it.
