Many feel economy is rigged: Is the economy rigged against most Americans?

  • Caused by Central Banking

The source of these feelings that the American economy is rigged is central banking, known as The Federal Reserve. Central banks, by design, favor the wealthy and well connected. Also, with separation from political processes thus unaccountable to voters. When the Fed speaks the world listens, and only the very well connected have the ability to influence any of its decisions.

  • Yep I think so

However, want to say this is no reflection on President Obama. Over the years from what I saw he did try to help those in lower income brackets. He wanted to lower taxes for them while keeping them high for those who were rich. But also met with opposition from Congress who felt the cuts needed to go to the rich to trickle it down, funny this hasn't worked yet and I doubt ever will.

  • I think yes

It's something unpredictable but in the end is right.
Do you think is this wrong?
    I do not think so.
I like apple, banana, kiwi, grapefruit, but not lemon.
    Lemon is not taste goooooood.
    But apples are so gooood.
    Kiwi is sooooooo good.

  • Yes, the wealthy minority controls the American economy.

As the 2007/2008 financial crisis so brutally revealed, the economy is rigged and run by the wealthiest of Americans. Special interests and lobbyists have the greatest sway over the politicians in Congress, and huge corporations use loopholes and excuses to replace American workers with cheap foreign labor, driving up unemployment and driving down the minimum wage. The government does not care about most Americans; it cares about who has the biggest pockets, and our failing economy sadly reflects this.

  • Rigged economy hurts America

After the Wall Street protests that pitted the "1%" against the "99%", it seemed that the gap between rich and poor had been dealt with - or at least that it had brought that conversation out into the open. Unfortunately, the American economic system continues to benefit the rich at the expense of the middle class.

  • No, the economy is not rigged against most Americans

No, the economy is not rigged against most Americans. The economy is functioning the way that it is set up to function. It is a capitalist economy. Thus, the economy may no be in favor of a large portion of Americans, especially those at the bottom. This does not mean that it is rigged.
