    Donald Trump does likely want to be president. Yes, Trump has run an unorthodox campaign, however, he is also an unorthodox candidate. Trump seems serious about running for president. He has spent around $50 million of his own money during the campaign. Furthermore, he has developed many policy proposals, held numerous political rallies, and conducted several interviews during the campaign.

Stephanie Cegielski, a former Trump campaign advisor, left the campaign and wrote that his goal was not to win the election but simply shake up the Republican party, but he magnetized people which is why he ended up winning. Trump simply wants attention which he has done by securing his place in history as the 2016 Republican candidate for president.
