If a citizen that is not a public official is being stalked, the government will provide them security to make them safe. Ultimately, it is not a person's responsibility to provide their own police force in order to keep them safe. We all pay taxes. It is the job of all of the police to keep everyone safe, even if they are famous.
No, cities should not be responsible for security of government officials. Cities should be responsible for the security of their own officials, but the federal government should be responsible for paying security costs for their own officials. This is especially pertinent in the case of Donald Trump, who should have known that he and and his family would be expected to live in the White House.
No, I do not agree that citizens should be responsible for paying for the security of the President or for his assets. We, the people, are already taxed and force to pay for many, many things that are not our responsibility and the security of a President's buildings are something we should not be responsible for. I believe that if the President wants security over his own, personal buildings then he needs to pay for that security himself.
I believe that the security of government officials should not be paid for using public funds from taxes. This money would be much more beneficial for the community if it was used to fund services such as schools and transport. Government officials earn enough money to use their own private security, which should be paid for by themselves.
