These days it seems that the police cannot make any mistake without huge ripples being felt. Misinformation spreads like wildfire through the internet, and those who are looking for trouble need little excuse to take to the streets and cause a riot. I'm not sure how this could be prevented, but something needs to change.
The days are over when people looked the other way when someone was treated unfairly by the police. Today, people are able to tell their story and draw attention to these issues. The beating that recently happened in Michigan will result in protests, because people are over abuses at the hands of police.
With the increased cases of police brutality in the media, there is a good chance that rioting could ensue. Maybe not in Michigan but in some other place. There seems to be a rise in the number of police violence against African Americans but social media has contributed to this.
There may be some new protests, but there has been constant protesting for some time, so it probably won't change. Most of the protests have remained civil, and there has been little rioting in the last few years. When there is riots or fighting it is usually one or two people.
