The Canadian Calgary Flames have a very good shot at getting to the Cup during this NHL season. As the third team in the standings, behind the Vancouver Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks, they have an above average chance at defeating the two teams and taking home the Cup this year.
The Flames have played some good games so far in the playoffs and they have fought very hard to get where they now are. The NHL Playoffs are, arguably, one of the most daunting trials in the sporting world. The necessary talent and punishment to make it to the cup is incredibly high and I do not think that the Flames have it.
The Calgary Flames recent loss to the Anaheim Ducks, in Game 5 of their playoff series, put an end to their postseason and to their hopes of winning the Cup. The Ducks took the best-of-seven series 4 to 2. However, the underdog Flames had a better-than-expected season and can look forward to trying again next year.
The Calgary Flames impressed in their first round Stanley Cup Playoff victory, but now, when faced with the formidable Anaheim Ducks, are not so impressive. The Flames have not been able to really come together to beat the feisty and mighty ducks of Anaheim. The Flames are going out, but giving it a good fight.
