Nikki Haley's background could make her an ideal vice presidential candidate for a Republican Party that needs to diversify. She broke barriers as the first female and first minority governor of South Carolina. I think we all should listen to what she has to say and I agree that the tone of recent political talks warrant a lot of criticism.
Political speech seems to rarely be about politics anymore, it is always a series of ad hominem arguments against people rather than a search for real solutions. The founding fathers would turn over in their graves if they watched political debates now, and lord help them if they watched political rhetoric on tv.
The political atmosphere across the country, but especially in D.C., is as bad as it has ever been. The partisanship is unlike any that has existed in the U.S., with no end in sight. The country has some serious problems, and the divide is preventing a lot of necessary work from getting done.
Nikki Haley is wrong. Both she and Obama believe that expressing anger and acting on desired change from frustration is wrong. She is acting as though people should just shut up and do as they're told. The political tides are turning and the establishment cannot handle it. If you force people to be quiet, you are ignoring them politically and they will rebel perhaps in less favorable ways.
