Obama, meeting with hostile foreign leaders without preconditions: Is Barack Obama justified in his willingness to talk to foreign leaders without preconditions?
  • Yes he is.

Barack Obama is justified in his willingness to talk to foreign leaders without preconditions. If he wants to talk with foreign leaders without preconditions, then that is his right. It is not like the other leaders have to talk with him and he is not harming anyone by his willingness.

  • The US has enough strength to allow President Obama to do that

Meeting with hostile foreign leaders without preconditions shows them that the USA isn't afraid of them. It also shows that the US is operating from a position of strength in that if a hostile foreign leader does something improper we can retaliate in a variety of ways including financially and militarily.

  • Barack Obama is justified in his willingness to talk to foreign leaders without preconditions.

Barack Obama is justified in his willingness to talk to foreign leaders without preconditions. He is doing the job of the President and part of that job is to be able to make the decisions that this country elected him to make. I think he was justified to make any decision that he deemed fit.

  • We need to be more open.

America can no longer afford to stand alone and be the world police. We are no longer the sole economic power in the world. If we ignore a country because we don't like how it runs things, that leaves an opening for up and comers like China or India to get into the foreign policy mix. We must be kind and appear kind, and that includes no preconditions when our President talks to foreign leaders.

  • Yes he is.

Our country vastly needs more diplomacy than military action. We always want to go and bomb up a country for doing something we don't like. Even if our relations are contentious, we should sit down and have some diplomacy. It's not weakness, it's being an adult. It's childish to always fight. It's adult to talk it out.

  • I think it's a good idea.

I like that Obama is willing to do what it takes to have negotiations with these world leaders. He has had meetings with certain leaders that the United States hasn't had a clear form of communication with in years and it can prove to be beneficial to our relations and the economy in the future.

  • Obama Speech Freedom

Obama stated during the onset of his presidential administration that there would be transparency in regards to talking to the nations of the world. Obama was welcomed on the foreign stage in the multitudes as he addressed the issues of preconditions and his willingness to have an open door policy.
