Any use of fossil fuels to burn internal combustion engines is bad for climate change. Instead, humans should focus on green energy like wind, solar, nuclear, geothermal and even biofuels in order to alleviate carbon pollution in our atmosphere before it is too late. Oil sands should be left alone or cleaned up.
Studies have shown that coal, not oilsands, are the real bad guys when it comes to negative effects on the environment that trigger climate change. Oilsand emissions have very little effect on global warming. The burning of coal (or natural gases) would create up to a 15-degree increase in temperature when the globe's entire supply is ruined, whereas that of hydrocarbons in oilsands would be less than one half of a degree.
