Open primaries: Is it OK to advance two candidates from same party?

  • Anyone Should Be Able To Run For Office

Anyone should be able to run for office, including two candidates from the same party in open primaries. While it may not be politically advisable to advance two candidates from the same party because it is likely that they will be taking votes from each other, putting other candidates in a better position for victory, it should not be banned because that would be a restriction on democracy.

  • It is ok to advance two candidates from the same party

I don't see anything wrong from advancing two candidates from the same party as long as a majority vote from the people cause that to happen, not any sort of prepaid voting through Wall Street manipulators to get officials elected in their favor. It can definitely cause a lot of debate and negativity, but I don't see how it can do any harm if there are good policies set in place by both parties.
