One would imagine that there might some questionable tactics there for a variety of reasons. It is hard to say with complete accuracy how things will be in fifty years from now but by cutting down on emissions may be a good start but would not be much by itself.
I do believe there are questionable tactics with regard to the phasing out of fossil fuel subsidies. It is something that has been discussed for some time but the oil companies still receive generous subsidies in spite of their enormous profits. Campaign contributions undoubtedly have a hand in the continuance of unneeded subsidies and I believe that money could be better spent on technology to develop alternative fuels.
