Prisoners right to vote: Does depriving prisoners of a vote discriminate?

  • Prisoners should lose their right to vote until they are released.

I think that prisoners should lose their right to vote until
they are released from prison. They have
already proven that they are not law abiding citizens, so why should they be
allowed to vote on the laws of the land?
I think that they should have to pay their debts to society first. Then, when they are paroled, they should have
to petition the state in order to regain the right to vote.

  • Don't Break the Law

Prisoners have been removed from society because they broke the law. As such, they have no say in government because they aren't a part of everyday society. The prisoners themselves usurped the rights of other people, hence they are in jail in the first place. Because they infringed upon someone else's rights, those in jail have their own basic rights taken away from them.
