Without support, nothing will change. Money and awareness are needed. We have seen so many policies and ideal change lately so this momentum is inspiring for so many. Keep it up and positive things will continue. Thanks to those that are making a difference. It's not always easy with so many causes in need.
More people need to be taught on how to protect themselves and their loved ones from these magnificent creatures. But the best form of protection isn't extinction. Most people all ignorant when it comes to sharks, which is why they need to be educated. Once that happens, things can change. People's perspective can be altered.
We have killed on average 90% of all shark species because of the believe in propaganda made to make sharks look like blood thirsty creatures where in all extent they aren't. We kill over 1 million sharks a year whereas on average they only kill four us each year. Their blood thirsty creatures, i think not, infact they are far from it. Sharks are more important than we think, without them the whole of society will collapse as explain by Peter Benchley himself as a wrote a short story explaining what would happen in his book 'shark life'. We may not know a lot about sharks especially about the great white but we have learned (those who study sharks,) have learned that they are bloodthirsty monsters but quite the opposite, if anything's the monsters here its us. To the people who said they were viciously attacked by sharks, you entered their territory and they didn't like that and felt threatened so attack, if i were i attacked by a shark i would say the fault was to me. They home is the ocean and it belongs to them not us and people have to start accepting that. They've been here for millions of years, even before the dinosaurs. I believe they deserve a little respect. We need sharks more than we think... Its about time people started seeing that and i think more of of these finathons will at least encourage younger generations to help sharks and help them realize how important they are.
