Protectionism: Should government subsidize companies going into developing countries?

  • Government should subsidize.

The government should subsidize companies going into developing countries because this is a very big risk for the company. They are going into unknown territory in order to provide a third-world country job opportunities and products. This is a very brave thing that should be rewarded by our government. As long as certain standards are met.

  • Foreign Investment Doesn't Need Public Cash

The government shouldn't subsidize much of anything, and most certainly not companies who go overseas. Instead, the federal government should spend money to bring businesses within the borders of the United States to employ more Americans. Congress needs to cut funding to a lot of places--big oil, foreign assistance and trips to outer space. We need to feed and house people, not invest in foreign companies.
