There will always be scandals in large industries. Those scandals usually don't take away from the worth of the end product. While there are still football fans among us who find the sport entertaining, there will also remain loyal NFL fans. As it should be. College football fans can watch college football. That's not going anywhere either.
No I do not think that peoples crimes should go unnoticed. Especially the horrible crimes of child abuse. People should not ignore these criminal acts and continue to support them in their football. They do not deserve their continuous fame and glory when they are criminals. They need to be dealt with.
Thinking that the NFL is the only sports venue with crime is obtuse and wildly incorrect. The NFL rightfully has a magnifying glass on it, and while the players are role models, they are still human. The NFL is showing that it is not immune to the issues that are prevalent in all of society, so instead of shunning and ignoring, we should take this as an opportunity to teach and better society.
Since a group or organization is made up of individuals you will always have representation issues. It is impossible to regulate and control each person that is a part of a group. NFL is such a huge organization with many different football teams made of many different players. It is impossible that each of those players are perfect in their home lives. A few players that may have personal issues should not affect the entire organization in whole. Those players should be dealt with on a individual basis depending on what the issue was. Sponsors are a huge part of supporting the NFL so there will unfortunate issues where a business will not want to be associated with any controversy but punishing an organization based on the actions of the very few seems unfair. Even if people boycott against the NFL based on these allegations, it probably would not make a big dent in the overall future of the organization.
