Recognizing Wicca as a religion: Should Wicca be recognized as a religion?

  • We Deserve Recognition!

Wicca is a real and valid religion. We are a neo-Pagan type, who worship nature and many Gods and Goddesses. Even though some aspects of are religion, like spell casting and elixir making, are controversial within society, we deserve recognition. Wicca isn't a weird dark cult. We don't harm anyone. And yes, we are a real religion.

  • This is a debate?

Of course it should! I see no reason why a perfectly nice, peaceful belief like Wicca shouldn't be a recognized religion. It has been around for quite a while and is based around the horned god and the goddess, who are supposed to be equal in power. So, it should.

  • Wicca Should Be Recognized as Formal Religion

Yes, Wicca should be recognized as a formal religion as it is a religion with many followers, and the requirement that a religion be from antiquity to receive recognition is a little silly. So long as a religion has followers, it should be treated as any other religion is treated.

  • Wicca should be recognized

Wicca should be recognized as an organized form of belief. It is the oldest known European practiced religion, the practice itself is peaceful and respects nature and has no political agenda attached to it. It would be the only recognized form of religion in America that would not have a representative in Congress lobbying for votes.
