Granted some people like mindless entertainment. Some people like the voyeristic view into someone else's life. But seriously, are you too bored with your own life that you have to watch someone else's? This is just another example of the depths to which our entertainment industry has fallen. No one is willing to embrace new ideas, so they rely on less imagination and more juvenile topics to draw attention.
Rationally, I understand that the scripting, editing, and staging in these shows creates what is mostly an illusion of spontaneity and real life, but there is something genuine in peoples’ approach and responses that sustain interest. Good to see Kiedis is better. Love the guy,and I have been a fan of his and RHCP for many years.
Reality shows are often viewed as trash that nobody should spend their time watching. James Corden's Late Late Show, however, shows that the opposite can be true. His segment called "Carpool Karaoke" is one example of this: it shows just how fun reality TV can be, even if it's not "highbrow" television.
Reality shows and comedy skits such as Carpool Karaoke, while at times they can be somewhat dull and lacking entertainment, are not a waste of time because their job is to entertain. To me, they accomplish this goal many times and more often than not. If something is able to accomplish a goal, it is definitely not a waste of time.
