Research says drivers are most obnoxious on Monday morning. Is that because they have to go back to work?

  • People are idiots everyday

Every driver on the road acts like an idiot. It is very sad people cause car accidents just because they do not know how to drive. So Monday morning and everyday else, they are obnoxious.

  • Mondays are the worst days in regards to peoples attitudes toward work.

Having been a business owner for many years, I can tell you from personal experience, Mondays are the worst day of the week in terms of work. It didn't take long to learn that Mondays should be treated as an extension of the weekend, with minimal duty requirements. In fact, whenever possible, Mondays should be voluntary. As a matter of fact, a fellow business owner has adopted this same practice.

  • Yes, it probably is

People have a very hard time on Monday mornings due to the need to change back to their work routine, and things do not go as smoothly as other mornings do. This can cause more obnoxious driving because people may be tired, distracted or simply running late, which leads to impatience and rudeness.

  • Everybody hates Mondays!

It totally makes sense that people are most obnoxious on Monday mornings. After a nice relaxing weekend, we have to face the work week again, and it's very unpleasant. Being in a rather poor mood definitely reflects on our driving skills and how we react to and deal with other drivers.

  • Going to work is always unpleasant

The Monday morning commute is filled with obnoxious and reckless drivers because on Monday mornings people are more distracted. They are dwelling on whatever things they forgot to bring with them, or accomplish before the work week started, or have to face over the week at work. In mid-week, those thoughts are fewer and more focused, allowing drivers to divert some of that energy to the task at hand. Driving.
