Right of self-defense: Would crime decrease if there was a right of self defense?

  • Crime would probably decrease if there was a right of self defense.

If violent criminals knew that citizens that were attacked would be legally able to defend themselves then they might think twice before they decide to participate in victimizing innocent people in such a violent way.It would also be easier for all sides of the legal profession because they would have more legal options.

  • A right to self defense makes victims into heros

When the right to self defense exists, victims fight back and sometimes they win. When victims are not so easy to victimize crime will decrease. One is less likely to commit crime if they know that they may be injured, captured and imprisoned, than if they know that they are protected by the law.
