I know there are restricted rules and, they think negative about it, but that doesn't mean you have to judge them in little ways which could lead to bigger things. We are all humans and we should be treated equally no matter how much you hate it. Deal with it.
Same-sex marriage is being legalized all over the place. Germany just legalized it 3 months ago. And Muslims are doing gay weddings. Muslims, the people that many Catholics believe are more corrupt than they are, and yet the Muslims are the ones doing gay weddings and Roman Catholics haven't even done one. I know about the Bible verse saying that marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman, but (with the exception of the 10 commandments) that was just ancient Middle Eastern law. They only did marriages between a man and a woman. Christians didn't have to follow that. And yes Jesus reminded his followers about the Book of Genesis and how God created male and female. But those were just suggestions. He technically said he would rather have a male and female together, but if 2 males or 2 females wanted to get together, that's they're call, and he would love them either way. I don't even see why this is an issue. MAKE GAY MARRIAGE LEGAL IN ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH!
It's not right to be able to license marriages to only people you see fit. It's called discrimination. I can guarantee that everyone in the "no" section would completely change their answer if it were black people they were refusing to marry. Or perhaps interracial weddings. Man, this would be blowing up if that were so.
Just let people marry other people. Why is that so wrong? I am not a religious person but I believe it is a persons right to marry who they want no matter their religion. If god loves all his creations then why would he discriminate them because they liked the same sex??? It makes no sense.
I’m an atheist, so I’m not the best person to be commenting on this, but if Catholicism is truly about love and acceptance, they should accept if one of their members wants to be gay. To not accept gay people is to contradict the core principle of acceptance in Catholicism and therefor, disregard god.
While "should" isn't the best choice of words, they should be allowed to without the thought of other people shaming them just for doing what they want and what has no problem whatsoever. As far as I know, gay marriage has never hurt anyone or made anyone feel uncomfortable. If it has, that person has a sick mind, because instead of just being happy for the ones that are committing themselves to love each other until death, they pollute their own minds only thinking about the fact that it doesn't go with their beliefs. Besides, what's that going to do anyway? It'll only make the world worse, and it probably won't stop them, especially considering the fact that homosexuals have been generally accepted throughout America and many other countries.
I hate when people say God hates homeosexuals but God actually loves them so much he would just prefer if they werent gay. No offense. God loves people whoever it is. He loved you before you were gay and after you are gay. If people want to have a gay marrige do it somewhere else. In the bible it says that the world were gonna put pressure on you to do things like this but you should resist them.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
No true church of God should conform to such a thing. How could it even be considered?
But it hate homosexual acts, which are sinful. It's still up to debate whether being gay/lesbian is a choice or not, so it's not a sin to be gay. However, the church will not recognize homosexual marriages, even if the remain abstinent, because it goes against the Bible and against church teaching.
Freedom to practice religion as you see fit is a fundamental right stated by the first amendment. Government cannot (and should not) force people of any belief system to go against their beliefs. In Roman Catholicism, gay marriage is forbidden and is considered a sin. They are not legally obligated to marry a gay couple due to the first amendment. Those considering gay marriage in roman catholic churches can also consider that this isn't the only way to be married.
If you want to have a same sex wedding, don't make it a religious wedding. Don't force other people to think like you. Everyone has a right to believe what they want, and forcing Christians to abandon their religion is plain wrong. A church has the right to refuse service if it would violate their belief.
Stop watering down religion to fit contempary views. If youre going to believe in God and follow a holy book, actually follow the holy book, or don't bother and join the rest of logical, tolerant, accepting society. It's a lot of fun, following your reason instead of desperately clinging to an old book x
