Russia is being "increasingly aggressive" and is willing to use "propaganda, espionage, subversion and cyber-attacks"against countries including the UK, the head of MI5 has said.Isil is an enduring threat, here to stay, and is at least a generational challenge.” hence Russia definitely has to be punished militarily for its cyber crimes
There have been a number of law firms in the United States that have recently been hit by ransomware. The ransomware came from Russia. The hackers take all of the person's files and then demand a large sum of money in order to unlock them. Russia should pay for this or it will just keep happening.
Using the military should never be the first solution to a problem, even one as serious as cyber attacks. We should try to work with Russia diplomatically, and if we can't make any headway we should move to sanctions that will harm the country economically. Money talks, sometimes better than might.
No, I don't think that military action is the correct answer. Since Russia is doing so many cyber attacks against Sweden, some sort of measure needs to be taken against Russia. However, I feel that a financial punishment would be more appropriate. Russia should be fined for its acts against Sweden. Monetary punishment would be more effective and safer.
