Saudi Arabian mother dies of stab wounds allegedly inflicted by her twin sons after discouraging them from joining ISIS: Are we to believe Islam truly teaches and mandates that caring for elders is a pathway to heaven?
  • Islam stresses the importance of respecting your parent especially your mother.

    1. The Prophet Muhammad said, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad, Nasai)
2.. "We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth" (46:15).
    3. "We have enjoined on man and woman (to be good) to his/her parents; show gratitude to Me and to thy parents; to Me is (thy final) Goal. If they (parents) strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with justice (and consideration) and follow the way of those who turn to Me (in love)" (31:14-15).
    Etc...

  • Muslims are fighting Isis.

Isis is supported by allies of US in the region. Saudi Arabia also supported Taliban and alqaeda. They're simply a puppet government placed there by Us or Britain (not sure).US has huge shares in Arabia's fields. ISIS is being fought by Sunnis and shias. Wahhabis (Saudi Arabia) aren't true Muslims.

  • Yes, we should believe that Islam promotes caring for the elderly.

Islam encourages people to respect their parents and take care of them when they are elderly. People who do not follow this tenet of the religion are not representative of the entire Islamic faith. ISIS is a radical fundamentalist group, and the actions of their recruits should not be generalized to the entire Muslim population.

  • Yes, Islam does teach about caring for elders.

ISIS is not representative of Islam as a whole. ISIS is a sect, and a splinter organization that teaches many things that go against Islam as a whole. Just as the Westboro baptist church is not representative of Christianty as a whole. Besides being instilled in the culture, the Koran teaches Muslims to revere and care for their elders.

  • They are uneducated

That's the only reason I can think why they won't follow the mandate set by the Quran. Unless it isn't the exact words. The holy books are very hard to understand, for they are ramblings of drunk/mad men. We can forgive them for a misinterpretation, can we not? Plus, you don't know that they killed her for being against ISIS. They didn't come up and tell you all about it, did they?

  • Loss of humanity makes them forget

For two sons to kill their beloved mother so they can go kill in the name of ISIS, should tell you that it's definitely not in the name of God. The devil has found a way to infiltrate young minds and permeate them with evil. He is dividing and conquering one bomb at a time, one murder at a time etc. He's capturing these people younger and younger. Beware of who you follow. Remember lucifer was once an angel too. He will come to you dressed in flowing beautiful gowns, while secretly hiding his hoofs and murderous savagery.

  • No, I don't think that we are to believe that Islam teaches and mandates its adherents care for elders in order to get to heaven.

No, I don't think that we are to believe that Islam teaches and mandates that its adherents care for their elders in order to get to heaven. Like other religions, Islam inspires violence and also has passages that contradict one another. It is not alone in this problem, however. Ready comparisons can be drawn with Christianity as well.
