  • Kids should be in school till they are 18

Education is Essential to be able to live meaningfully. Staying in school till 18 doesn’t mean that they will be successful in their lives. In developing countries. Children and young people stay in school till they complete their basic education. It lifts the population out of Poverty. It is clear that being in school till 18 is the most desirable and easy path to a fairly comfortable beginning.
Children should be in school. Knowledge is the greatest wealth. More and more kids are leaving school early and it is leading to our literacy rate and progress in certain fields.

  • Education is key.

Children should be in school. Knowledge is the greatest wealth. More and more kids are leaving school early and it is leading to our literacy rate and progress in certain fields. I understand life gets in the way but to better the life you now have an education helps to great lengths.

  • Students should stay in school till 18

Making school attendance required til 18 will lower the amount of people who regret not finishing high school.

Each year over 1.2 million students drop out of high school in the United States alone. That is a student every 26 seconds or 7,000 a day. About 25% of high school freshmen fail to graduate in time.

The unemployment rate for people without a high school diploma is nearly twice that of the general population.

People who drop out are more likely to commit crimes, abuse drugs, & alcohol, or live in poverty.

On average, a dropout earns less money, is more likely to be in jail, is less healthy, is less likely to be married, and are unhappier than a high school graduate.

The U.S. which had some of the highest graduation rates of any developed country, now ranks 22nd out of 27 developed countries.

The dropout rate has fallen 3% from 1990 to 2010 (21.1% to 7.4).

  • Children should not be forced to stay in school

Children may want to do something else which is outside of school such as join a business. This is intruding on their freedom of choice after they finish high school they are 16 years practically younger adults and as young adults they have the wisdom make a choice wisely specially when they clearly know that this will have a huge impact on their life. So there for they should have the freedom of choice and it should be an option for children to stay in school until 18 or not.

  • Kids shouldn't be forced to do what they don't wanna, so they shouldn't stay in school forever either.

I THINK that kids shouldn't stay in school until they're 18 because there are many smart kids living today. That's why some kids skip grade levels because they are to smart for it. Also many parents miss their child (ren) while there at school. Kids also have jobs and they have many things on their minds, even school. As the school years go by, many parents have to go to the store to by extra school supplies and stuff for school projects. It becomes to much and a waste of money.

  • Certainly not forced, no.

As someone who dropped out of high school, if I had been forced to stay in school it would have been damaging on my life. People say things like "we should force kids to stay" without realizing the other factors. What if the kid wants to drop out because, like my situation, the school itself is a negative or abusive environment? Should they be forced to stay?

  • Because it is a waste of time & Money

  • Kids shouldn't even be in school

Beyond learning to read, write and do some math of a useful kind, there is no reason for kids to be in school. They don't want to be there. They will forget everything taught. Everything they are taught they can learn on their own anyway, so school is just a big babysitting operation, and a way for school teachers and administrators to get an income stream. No kids should even be allowed in school beyond 6th grade.
