Self-determination enables a more peaceful world by providing nations with a positive outlook for the future and the freedom to choose how to attain that success. Nations are run by people who want what is best for their nation, and therefore have their own best interest. It is sort of hard to think that self-determination would hurt international stability. Nations want stabiilty, peace and prosperity and this would be natural means, as long as allowed to pursue their freedoms.
I don't think personal self- determination can have an affect on the stability of international affairs. I think that in order for determination in essence to be widely and globally effective in inspiring change for the better in communities it would have to be made some sort of humanitarian mandate in order for it to be successful.
