Sen. McCain expresses concerns about Tillerson appointment: Will Congress act to deny some of Trump's appointments?

  • Yes, it seems so.

It is very likely that Congress will act to deny some of President Trump's appointments; especially controversial figures like Tillerson. Congress will have to pick it battles with the Trump administration, because opponents won't be able to win every fight. But certainly, some of Trump's appointments will face scrutiny, even rejection by the Senate.

  • More than likely.

Since the general rule of thumb is that people cannot agree on anything in this world it is a distinct possibility that Congress will act to deny some of Trump's appointments. Also since most of the people in Congress don't really like him anyway and feel that he doesn't know what he's doing.

  • No, Congress is mostly Republican.

Even if some Republicans like John McCain and Paul Ryan occasionally criticize Donald Trump, most of the Republicans in Congress either agree with Trump on most issues or support him because he belongs to the same party. Most of them do not have the courage that McCain has to stand up to Trump.
