  • What else do they call it?

First things first: I define "genetic modification" as the changing of an animal's genome by humanity. Now, this is not just done in a laboratory. Every time a farmer chooses to breed that muscular bull with that muscular (and therefore meaty) cow, that changes the genome of the resulting animal.

  • Yes, chicken is chicken, but restaurants should specify it's a GMO.

It's important to note that all of us are typically already eating genetically modified organisms, we just remain blissfully unaware. Animals and crops have been modified genetically forever, through selective breeding. That being said, if a restaurant is serving chicken that has been more out-of-the-box altered than an accepted standard, it stands to reason that they should specify so on the menu or to their customers, in order to avoid the backlash that would happen if people found out they hadn't been told ahead of time. Still, they should be allowed to call it chicken.

  • Yes, they should be able to use the name chicken.

Restaurants should be allowed to sell genetically modified chicken under the name of chicken, They are not changing the base of the animal, they are just making it better, It is essentially the same thing as selling genetically modified vegetables under their original name. This goes for any other genetically modified food item as well.

  • No, it is nasty

People should have the write to know what they are buying. The restraints should not be faking the customers out with their cheaper chicken. Oh yah! Genetically modified chicken is very DIFFERENT!!!!!! Many people are sickened by the thought of modified chicken. I hope that restraints that do this lose business

  • No its unhealthy

Gmo chicken if done in a lab has an effect on human body that can lead to multiple diseases and how the animal is kept is horrible the chicken often times have there beak cut of and become unable to move because they are under developed and stuffed in small cages.

  • GMO chicken should not be called chicken

GMOs should at least have a warning or a label to let people know what they are eating. Many toxins are in the "chicken", and who wants to eat chicken that's not even real? What has the world come to? Im pretty sure A LOT of people love chicken, but they would like real chicken, not fake.

  • No chicken so not be called this

No because then people will think they're getting scammed. Then that restaurant will be reported and they will have to pay a receipt. Probably it will be a 200,000 dollar fine. I hope any of the restaurants I go to will not be like this >:( bye and have a nice day whoever reads this.

  • You don't know exactly what your eating if you don't label the foods properly.

If you do not label food correctly then the consumers do not know what they are eating. The consumer does not know if what they are eating will hurt them or if it is healthy. There are many toxins that are in genetically modified food they consumer doesn't know they are digesting.

  • One word... Ew...

G-ROSS. Who on earth in their right mind would want to eat a mutated hunk of "meat"? Everybody LOVES chicken, but what they don't know is what they will hate. Most people have absolutely no idea what factories do to the chickens all for the sake of money. Restaurants should tell their costumers when a product contains genetically modified chicken; because what they don't know might hurt you or them, and not telling them is the same thing as lying.

  • GMOs are horrible

Restaurants such as KFC shouldn't be able to call what they serve chicken.Their so called "chicken" has been genetically modified to get bigger and better then a regular chicken, and fast. It should at the very least be mentioned that what you are buying has been bred and pumped full of hormones and chemicals that make it grow bigger muscles and could potentially harm you. To sum it up, you are eating a chicken filled with drugs that could potentially harm you and anyone that eats this so call "chicken".

Firstly the condition of which these animals are kept is simply terrible. They are kept in cages and mistreated in their short 6 some weeks to live before the restaurants start collecting. They are fed corn, drugs, hormones and GMOs to grow faster and become larger and because they get so big so fast they get crippled or suffer from all kinds of diseases such as bronchitis, ammonia, weakened immune system, respiratory problems or organ failure. They are unloved and bred to die after their short horrible life, and the restaurants only care about getting cheap meat fast. Not to mention that 2/3 of the "chickens" have been infected with Arsenic which is a horrible chemical that causes cancer and even death in higher doses all because of those drugs. What they are creating is not a chicken.

Now a real chicken, thats something that is raised, not grown, something that has feelings, and an actual life. To be able to call them chickens again the factory-farms have to be shut down and chicken farms created, a place where each chicken get enough space to grow, doesn't get injected with chemicals that harm us, and is treated as a living animal instead of a product just waiting to die. They need to experience their life before it ends.

Now many people will say that it's the solution for over population. Or they could say something along the lines of this way being faster and inexpensive. They could say that the bigger the chickens the less hunger in the country. Well ask yourself this, Do you really want to pay little money but consume all of the drugs and hormones they put in these so called chickens and having the chance of death? Wouldn't you rather pay another three dollars and get a healthier, tastier real chicken?

You cant call something for what its not. So these restaurants need to either 1.Buy REAL chickens that aren't filled with harmful chemicals 2. Say it how it really is and warn people of the dangers of eating these mutants or 3. Stop putting GMOs and hormones in the chickens. Any of those things would improve the restaurant's reputation to me.
