Should adopted children be able to contact their biological parents?

  • Yes, the choice should be theirs.

    An adopted child may not be looking for an active parent and may dearly love their adoptive parents. However, there are questions regarding origin and health that only a biological parent can answer. So children should be able to contact those parents and give themselves the gift of knowing where they come from.

    Yes, I believe adopted children should be able to contact their biological parents once they are old enough to consciously make the decision for themselves and have shown that they are able to understand the consequences of finding out that their biological parents might not be exactly what they are expecting.
