Should airline pilots be able to carry firearms like police or security guards?

  • Airline pilots should be able to carry firearms

I think that Airline pilots should be able to carry firearms. I think they should be trained to carry them to protect the passengers of their flight as well as the people that they work with. It is very important today to protect yourself no one else can help you.

Yes, airline pilots should be allowed to carry firearms. These pilots are already entrusted with the safety of all their passengers when they are in control of an aircraft. As long as they are properly trained in the use of the firearm, there is little reason they should not be enlisted to help protect their aircraft with the use of firearms.

Everyone should be able to carry a firearm if they're a sane, upstanding citizen. Pilots would probably never get a chance to use their guns anyway, but in the event of an emergency they would have the option to defend themselves with a weapon. More guns isn't always the answer, but if it could stop one incident than it could be worth the change. A person trying to take over a plane already has a weapon planned for use. If the pilots have superior weapons, they may be able to stop the event.

Airline pilots should be able to carry firearms because they need to be able to defend themselves and their passengers from anyone who might try and take over the plane as did happen on 9/11/01. I have to believe that if the pilots or co-pilots on those four highjacked planes would have been armed armed and properly trained, there would not have been nearly 3,000 people killed on that day.
