  • It can generate more tax

It will decrease corruption and black money in india.. If its regulated in well manner. Reduce the corruption in the game: Now because the betting is illegal and the huge money that is offered by the bookies, who are not caught, the players will be tempted to take the money. If the batting is made legal and the bookies are registered, the players might be wary of making transaction with them.

  • I strongly believe that betting should be legalised in india

In a country like india where government fights to raise fund and the people fights for employment . I think these both problems can be solved by legalising betting as the government can earn taxes and the people can get employment from my point of view betting is another game with economic benefits....As we think about the middle class man they are more prudent than the rich and they very well know where to invest their hard earned money...

  • These are the main reasons!!!

Let us look at 5 reasons why betting should be legalised in India:

Will bring in more revenue to the government: During a series there is apparently 400 million pounds being bet and this is huge money. By making betting illegal, the government hasn’t been able to stop, it might be a good way raising some money by the government.

Reduce the corruption in the game: Now because the betting is illegal and the huge money that is offered by the bookies, who are not caught, the players will be tempted to take the money. If the batting is made legal and the bookies are registered, the players might be wary of making transaction with them.

Few forms Gambling are already legal in India: While betting is a form of gambling, other forms like betting in horse racing and the Casinos already exist in India. So when gambling already exists in India, it can give green signal to other forms like betting in sports. There are accusations that betting on horses are rigged sometimes, so in sports it might a fair game if sportspersons are not involved in betting.

It’s not bad as it is only predicting: Just like a lottery, it is all about predicting the winner unless it is rigged. In a team game like cricket it is very tough for a result to be rigged. So people can make money by predicting the outcome of the match there is no wrong in it. Anyway we have plenty of Babus, who are looting the nation through corruption. So there is nothing wrong by making it legal.

It’ll help people delink from the underworld: At present the betting racket is run by the underworld dons. So there is a good chance the people betting face a danger to their life. If the betting is made legal then all the bookies and agencies will come under the purview of the law and there will be more stability to the people, while ensuring more income to the government.

  • Yes sports betting should be legalised in India

This is the best solution to prevent match fixing issues to happen again. Its time Indian Government act and legalize sports betting in india. India should stop following old outdated laws which have no value now. Do this and it will save the sports especially cricket. This has to happen.

  • Yes betting should be legalized.

Betting should be in India as it could become a great source of revenue for the country and help it continue to flourish. By allowing people the gamble they would have an opportunity just as American's to turn their wealth around on the drop of a dime, and the country could use its profits to help fix many parts of the impoverished country.

  • If they think they're ready for it, sure

Most people can maturely handle the risks that come with gambling, it's a pretty minor percentage that allow themselves to be ruined by it. Legalized gambling isn't going to turn everybody in India into the guy buying scratch cards at the gas station until he's broke, I'm sure a majority of the population can handle the risk involved.

  • There is no issue with betting

There is no issue with betting. There is an issue with players taking money to rig the game which breach their contract. Betting in itself may be considered immoral by some people, but they should keep their morality to themselves. People who want to make bets can do so in the black market anyway. By making betting illegal, you are actually protecting the betting mafia as they do not face any competition from the free market. This way the betting mafia dominates the betting scene. They are also able to bribe the players into rigging the game there by cheating their customers.
Banning something does not make it go away.

  • No betting is just like a cheating with our society

    Its having a vast disavantages..
1- betting is temporary....Some time works some time not just like a lottery.... And as we know how our young generation wants money faster, they egrly fall into gambling or betting and starts depending on it.

  • No,betting should not be legalised.

Before doing something we should thoroughly gauge its efect on indian society. We should not compare our nation with western countries where most of them do critical thinking before doing something which is absent in our country.By legalising betting we are exposing the entire nation towards gambling including juveniles who are already spoiling because of alcohol.Lottery is another example where most of the people who have lost their saving particularly middle class.By legalising betting we cant curb it even 50% because most of the money involved in betting are black. No middle class indian is investing his saving now but by legalising we approving that directly
