Should breakfast be compulsory in all schools?

Asked by: Collars
  • Most certainly yes

The sad truth is we cannot force parents to give a breakfast and in the event a family is low income enough, they may not be able to afford it. Every child should be afforded the opportunity and encouraged the opportunity to eat a sound breakfast every morning before classes begin. It gets the brain going!

  • Well, I think so.

Well... Breakfast? Many children run to school without breakfast. Isn't it could for them to have breakfast at school? I think so. And anyway, it's far better to have breakfast and lunch; parents do not need to care for their children's breakfast and lunch and everything! I do wish to have breakfast at school, yeah.

  • Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Without breakfast, your body won't work properly and start to store fat. This may lead to obesity. A student needs to be able to concentrate in class, if they do not have breakfast, their brain will not work as it is supposed to. They might feel tired and sick and find it hard to concentrate on what the teacher is saying. Kids/students might not have enough time in the morning to have breakfast so they can go to school to have it instead with their friends.

  • Breakfast is your key to start the day excellently..

Compulsory here means what we have to do, what becomes our obligation - that is breakfast.
    Why?
Because breakfast is the key to start your day excellently, breakfast help you to gain more. Keep going to your school with empty stomach or in hungry condition will interrupt your concentration..
And you will sacrifice your lesson point as a result not to concentrate well when your teacher explain in front of the class.
Either in the office, most of employees in an office hardly ever had their breakfast before go to the office, limited time become their reason. Keep working in hungry stomach also bad for your work performance in your office.
And the most important thing if you skip your breakfast is: Stomach ulcer..

  • Yes it should

Because of all the cuts and rises in taxes parents are finding it hard to survive and poor kids might only get one small meal a day and struggle to concentrate as provided in Britain's history therefore kids poor or not should be given free breakfast to help them concentrate through the day

  • Yes breakfast helps you.

  • Its a great idea to have breakfast compulsory in all schools

Because of the children who have careless parents. I know of a child that was bullies from her mum she is uncomfortably unhealthy. Her mum didn't like girls so her room was a closet and she got burnt with cigarettes. The only meal of the day she got was dinner and her friends gave her lunch. It just makes you think about how many other parents do that too. Or kids just FORGET to eat breakfast.I AGREE THIS A FANTASTIC IDEA.

  • Stuff It Down Their Throats!

Of course breakfast should be compulsory in all schools. The government already crams everything else down their throats, we might as well add what's supposed to go down them. It's not like kids have time, you know, before school. It'd be too much to expect a parent to wake up their child for breakfast, or teach them how to make a breakfast if that's not an option. Also, we should be cutting out as much time as we can from actual learning. Those precious minutes consumed while eating breakfast at school shall not go to waste! Even if they've eaten before showing up to school, make them eat again! No Child Left Behind should apply to compulsory food intake, sort of like an extension of the Necessary and Proper Clause. If they get no food, how can they think and pass every year? The government is supposed to cradle every child as if they were their own, so of course we have to make sure students eat at school every morning. They should eat at the same time as everyone else, eating similar foods, with monitors to make sure they eat the food, all the food, since the government clearly knows what's best. The government shouldn't stop until every kid's face is caked in carb-filled tastiness, just like public school lunches! Oh, this also applies to lunches; those should be compulsory too.

  • Yes breakfast must be compulsory in all schools

If a child or a student have his breakfast .He can be attentive in class in the morning . Due to his empty stomach he cannot be always active inside the class . Breakfast is a good morning meal for a child . While adults need to eat breakfast each day to perform their best, kids need it even more. Their growing bodies and developing brains rely heavily on the regular intake of food. When kids skip breakfast, they can end up going for long periods of time without food and this period of semi starvation can create a lot of physical, intellectual, and behavioral problems for them.

  • No, breakfast should not be compulsory but be an option

Yes, there are those that do not have the opportunity to eat breakfast each day, but equally there are those who do. Would it be fair to make them eat breakfast when they've already eaten? No; it would be ridiculous. Therefore, breakfasts should be provided as an option by schools but not made compulsory.

  • What about all of those kids that DO eat breakfast?

Even more, what about those kids that eat BETTER home breakfasts than school breakfasts? That's like forcing a cured person to get an incompetent doctor to treat them even though they already got treated in a perfectly good hospital. First of all, they don't need it. Second of all, the hospital's treatment is way better than the incompetent doctor's. And if the student doesn't have breakfast at home, then they should just make sure they have enough time when they arrive at school to get it there. You'd also be wasting food because of those already full kids that ate their breakfast at home.

  • It is not the schools responsibility

What has happened to the days when parents took responsibility for their own children and when people took responsibility for themselves? The government spends an awful lot on educating our kids, can you imagine the cost of feeding them as well?

Yes kids should have breakfast every day but it should be provided at home.

  • You shouldn't force children to eat

I think it should be optional. A school should provide a breakfast option, and the child or parent can decide whether or not they want to have breakfast. You guys do realize that this question is asking whether or not schools should force children to eat breakfast. Poor kids probably will take the breakfast option (since they may or may not have had breakfast at home) and kids who already ate breakfast will probably not take the breakfast option. I don't understand why there are so many yeses...
