There is no reason that Khris Davis should not have been called out for missing home plate on a home run, considering the fact that the whole point of scoring in baseball is by returning to and touching home base. If he did not in fact touch the home base when he was supposed to, then he should not have earned the points.
Because he didn't miss the plate and the call was overturned. While the other team has the right to challenge a call, this is one call that should not have been changed after the Manager Bruce Brody talked to home plate umpire. Baseball rules say the runner must touch all plates, including home but this seems more like a Managers attempt to stop a run scored.
Khris Davis should not be penalized for missing home plate. In baseball, a home run is basically a guarantee of points. The other team cannot do anything to stop the player who hit the home run to run the bases, as the ball has been hit past their reach. Running the bases after the home run is basically a formality.
Khris Davis has made many good plays, and yet media is trying to focus on the instance when he misses home plate on the home run. I am sure he feels bad enough on himself without media and fans also contributing to his bad feelings regarding his mistake. He can use this instance as a chance to grow as a player and I am sure he will never make this mistake again after this.
